"Being in a sacred circle with Linda Wolf is one of the most important things I have done for myself in decades. I can honestly say practicing Compassionate Listening(sm) and bringing it home to use in my family and with friends and co-workers has changed my life.
I want a women's circle"
--Jenny Gibbs, Seattle

Hello,
What Jenny writes above is what so many women say after having been part of one of my Women's Sacred Circle Retreats in Yelapa, Mexico, which we offer each year.
But not everyone can take 8 - 9 days off and or can afford to travel to Mexico to immerse herself in a retreat like that. And anyway, everyone comes home wanting an ongoing circle of her own. So, that's what I'm all about helping make happen.
Very often I am asked if I would ever lead a monthly women's circle in the area. I'm happy to do that -- but I also think women are fully capable of forming their own circles and working through the pretty typical relationship processes and learning experiences that create a successful, long lasting and effective circle experience, by themselves.
I know because it was my mother who first introduced me to women's circles when I was growing up. She and her friends had no introduction, no handbook, or prior experience to follow, and hers lasted over 30 years. Granted they worked through a lot of issues that with coaching can be avoided, but still all it took was commitment to each other and the willingness to stay in the heat of conflict and work things through when normal relationship issues came up, as they do in life anyway.
In this Introduction to Women's Circle and Compassionate Listening(sm) you'll have an opportunity to learn the basics of creating and being part of a successful circle. You'll learn what is needed in order to give each woman the feeling that she is safe to share her deepest truth, and be accepted, appreciated, supported and understood. You'll learn how important and necessary it is to own your judgments, your thoughts, your assessments, and take responsibility for all you experience. This is a great gift to ourselves and each other, and what is needed in the world to create sustainable relationships --- compassion for ourselves and eachother, caring about and nurturing the "substance of we," is what makes circle a sacred space.
You'll learn how circles work; how to create "safe space." You'll experience what it feels like to be truly heard, so deeply and reflectively that you can hear yourself; and you'll get a sense of what your relationships can be like when you come from a commitment to create bridges to our common humanity.
Women's Circles, any circles, when done well, are precious gifts to ourselves and everyone in them as well as outside them. How we learn to be human in circle is what we need to carry with us out into the world.
Besides the felt experience, you'll also receive handy Tip Sheets on both Compassionate Listening and Circle agreements; and valuable materials to help guide you on your own. Whether you decide to start a circle after the workshop or not, I'm sure you'll leave saying the experience was rewarding, powerful, illuminating, and invaluable. Warmly, linda

"...Talking Circles belong in the category of what we call the intangibles. You can't see or measure intangibles like you can see a building or a monument. The intangibles live inside us and are at the root of what is most important of all.
